conductedwiththetopic¡°TheImplicationandimpactoftheRussia-UkraineWar¡±bytheDepartmentofUkrainianStudies.The
paneldiscussiondealtwiththepositionsoftheworldnationsincludingtheU.S.,Russia,UkraineandseveralcountriesofEastern
Europeandalsotheinternationalpolitical,economicandsecurityimplicationscausedbythewar.Italsomentionedtheimpacts
onSouthKoreaandsomecorrespondingsolutions.ProfessorsoftheDepartmentofUkrainianStudiesofHUFSincludingOlena
Shchegel, Park Ro-byug, the former Russian and Ukrainian Ambassador, Hong Gyu-deok, professor of Politics & International
RelationsStudyofSookmyungWomen¡¯sUniversity,KimSin-kyu,theinvestigatorofEastEuropean&BalkanStudiesofHUFS,
andSeoWon-hee,theSecretaryofDefenseInstallationsAgency,tookpartinthediscussion.TheeventwasheldintheMinerva
ComplexofSeoulCampus,startingfrom1:30p.m.
Inthediscussion,ProfessorOlenapointedoutthattheresponsesoftheSouthKoreangovernmentandcorporationsagainstRussia
aretoolukewarm.Shealsodecried,¡°Thegovernment'seconomiccounteractionsareclearlyweakerthanothernations."Sheadded,
"Although they know that Ukrainian citizens are being slaughtered and that money flowing to Russia leads to weaponization,
companieshavenotbeenabletobreakofftheeconomiccooperationwithRussia."ProfessorOlenaconcluded,¡°IhopetheNational
AssemblyofSouthKoreapassesaresolutionthatcriticizesRussia'sinvasiontoUkraineassoonaspossible.¡±

Students can apply for psychological counseling programs held by the HUFS Student Counseling Center on the Seoul campus,
fromApril26toMay4,throughtheHUFSAbilitysystem.Therearetwodifferentprograms:¡°Self-careXCommunication¡±and
¡°Stressmanagement.¡±Bothwillbecarriedoutinagroup,atStudentCounselingCenter,locatedinGlobeedorm345.
The¡°Self-careXCommunication¡±programwilltakeplacetwiceonWednesdays,May11and18,from4to6p.m.Theprogram
is for solving difficulties in personal relationships that students face in college life. To reach the target, students will make a
dictionary with their own definitions of everyday words and share them with others. This process will let students be more
consciousofthemselves,helpthemtounderstandothers,andexpandtheirviews.StudentscanapplyforthisprogramfromApril
27toMay4throughtheHUFSAbilitysystem.
The¡°stressmanagement¡±programwillbecarriedoutfourtimesonMay10,17,24,and31,from6to8p.m.onTuesdays.Itwill
focusonfindingwhatstressesstudentshaveandthesourcesofstress.Theobjectiveistodiscoveraneffectivesolutiontoreduce
stress.Regardingthecounselingprogram,RohSeong-bin,Dept.ofChineseLanguageandCulture¡¯18,said,¡°WhenIhaveworries,
Iusuallytalktomyfriends,butitisraretogetpracticalsolutions.Ithinkapsychologyconsultantwillhelpmemoretosolvethe
problems,andIamlookingforwardtotheprograminMay.¡±TheapplicationisavailableontheHUFSAbilitysystemfromApril
26toMay3.
