Prof. Park Jeong-Woon, the new president of HUFS, begins his tenure and will serve a four-year

DepartmentofEnglishLinguisticsandLanguageTechnology.

wouldbuildahigh-techeducationinfrastructure,andadatacenterforafuture-orientedcampus.Healso
expressedhisambitiontosolvetheproblemofduplicativedepartments,whichhadnotbeenresolvedsince

UndergraduateClassDelivery
On January 13, the Dean of Academic Affairs of HUFS announced the information regarding undergraduate class delivery for
the2022springsemester,includingin-personclasseswithfewerthan40students.
Theattendancemeasurewillhavetheschoolgohybridwithonlineandofflineclasses.Classesconsistingof40studentsorfewer
will be delivered face-to-face. Students should participate in class on campus, wearing a face mask. On the other hand, classes
consistingof41ormorestudentswillbedeliveredonlineuntiltheendofthesemester.Theclassdeliverytypeisdeterminedby
theclasscapacity.Classcapacitymeansthemaximumnumberofstudentsindicatedforeachclassstatedonthecourseschedule
duringthecourseregistrationperiod.Thereisnochangeintheclassmethodaccordingtotheactualnumberofstudentstakingthe
course.Theclassdeliverytypewillbestatedonthesyllabusaswellasonthelectureschedule.
For face-to-face classes, if there are students who are unable to participate in the classes face-to-face due to self-quarantine,
suspectedsymptoms,orforeignstudentswhoarenotabletoenterthecountry,theclasswillbeconductedboth¡°face-to-face¡±and
via¡°real-timeonlinelectures¡±atthesametime,alsoknownas¡°mirroring.¡± Forclasseswithoutsuchstudents,onlyface-to-face
deliverywilloccur.
Online classes include both real-time attendance checks using QR code and real-time online lectures using WebEx, Zoom,
GoogleMeet,etc.Onlinelecturescanbereplacedwithreal-time50-minutelearningactivitiesincludingvideomaterialsproduced
bytheinstructorsthemselves,smallgroupactivities,Q&A,etc.Classdayandhoursarethesameastheactualclassschedule.
