College of Humanities
The College of Humanities includes the Department of Philosophy, the Department of History, and
the Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science. It continues to offer ways to conduct research
in humanities disciplines internationally by means of scientific research that opens the way to a a
more comprehensive, more accurate understanding of the true value of human beings and their
unique capacity for self-expression. The College of Humanities focuses on producing capable human
resources who can engage in sustainable activities with an ideological and philosophical objective
that stands in a class of its own. It maintains interactive cooperation and conducts joint research
projects with history professors in various language zones and renowned researchers around the
world, and in doing so, it is develops a profound understanding of general aspects of the humanities
and the capability to respond quickly to the changing times.

College of Interpretation and Translation
The College of Interpretation and Translation was established to produce top-notch international
communication specialists in korea and the broader Asian region; produce world-class conference
interpreters and professional translators with insight into global affairs and expertise; define academic
theories in regard to interpretation and translation in Korea; develop educational and training
methodologies; and train highly qualified specialists to take charge in multidisciplinary studies. It
continually develops and applies teaching methods, actively making use of the most advanced
foreign language education facilities and digital devices for maximum teaching benefit. In addition
to using state-of-the-art digital audio-visual devices, it receives 40 TV channels from 17 countries,
leading innovation in foreign language education.

College of Central and Eastern Europe Studies
The only educational institution for the study of Eastern Europe in Korea, the College of Central and
Eastern Europe Studies is a center of Eastern Europe specialists, leading the development of the
Eastern Europe Studies in Korea. In addition to national development, it helps students to develop
specialized values for the future. Offering programs that quickly and proactively answer the needs
of the times, it helps students develop their critical thinking skills, insights, communication skills,
and cultural sensitivity required in the globalization era. In linguistics, literature, and area studies,
this college has Korea’s best faculty and full-time native-speaker professors from world renowned
universities, and is increasing their number. It maximizes students’ competitiveness on the basis of an
innovative curriculum and heavy use of cutting-edge audio-visual devices and teaching methodology.
