“Wehopethatspringwillcomefromyou.”Butthenextweekthetoptradechiefs

ofbothKoreaandtheU.S.agreedtofinalizethingsinSeoul.
All details regarding Korea-U.S. FTA were agreed on last month in spite of
objectives.However,
resortingtoastay-instrikebyanti-FTAgroups.Thegovernmenthadinsistedon
theKoreaneconomy
FTAinclosedadministrationofthegovernmentwithoutanalyzingandmaking
alternative ideas about economic effects for common people. The consenting

Already, more and more people in the middle-income bracket of society are
collapsing,soFTAwillgivearisetomakechaebolstobewealthier.Thereisan
imbalanceddistributionofwealthinKoreasociety.Incomeofpeopleshouldbe
redistributed;otherwisecommonpeople’seconomicsituationsinthecountrywill
increasinglybecomemoreserious.
Simply, the government had explained people can buy moderate priced
produce, such as beef, rice, pears and oranges from FTA. In addition, they had
insisted that FTA will revitalize the domestic economy and stabilize national
economy. However, FTA can not guarantee the domestic economy advance
becauseoftheoutflowofthecurrencies.
Also the government had emphasized that Korea-U.S. FTA can bring about
risingGrossDomesticProduct(GDP).Eventhoughthatwillbetruebutgrowth
will not take care of all those problems. That is just an economic indicator, not
meaning.Itismerelyaquestionofnumericalvalue.Inaword,GDPisnotrelated
todowithpeople’slivingstandardsandthedomesticeconomy.
Recently, the government made an absurd remark; “We trust our people’s
ability.”Ithinkthatthegovernmentseemstobeindifferenttoourpeople.Korea-
U.S.FTAisloominganominousshadow.Byallmeans,thegovernmentshould
notonlyfocusononeside(richpeople).
