applicants who are seeking employment, called ‘Chwijunsaeng,’ are anxious to seek their career positions
and are getting busy working. Because they are making an effort to enter their dream companies, they usually
preparebetweenatleasttenresumestoamaximumofonehundredandtakeaptitudetestsandhaveinterviews.Inthis
case, HUFSans are not excepted. To learn more, The Argus accompanied two HUFSans who were searching for jobs
from Oct. 12 to 13 and looked deep into their lives regarding their difficulties finding jobs and their thoughts about
Korea’sseriousunemploymentcrisis.
TheArgusfirstmetHUFSan‘A,’an’06studentfromDept.ofRussian.Heleadsabusylifepreparingforemployment,
justliketheotheryoungapplicants.Afterbeingdischargedfromthearmyin2009,hestudiedforayearinanacademy
toenteralawschool,afterwhichhehadchangedhisplan.Afterthesecondsemesterofhisfourthyear,hedecidedto
putoffhisgraduationandmadeuphismindtogetajobfirst.Evenso,hehasnotyetabandonedhisdream.Heisstill
thinkingaboutstudyinglawagainaftergettingajobandthenmakinghisdreamcometrue.
TheArgusalsometaHUFSan‘B,’an’07studentfromDept.ofThai.Afterleavingthearmy,hewentabroadtwice
forlanguagetrainingaswellasa7+1exchangestudentprogram.However,hissituationisdifferentfromHUFSan‘A’
since he is searching for a job while attending his last semester’s classes. He feels that, unlike the other students who
havetakentimeofffromschoolorputofftheirgraduations,hisapproachtosearchforajobismuchmoredifficult.
