people began moving to Russia in 1863 due to the anti-Japanese movement and for agricultural reasons, and around 170,000
peopleendingupmigrating.DuringtheSovietera,theywereforcedtomovetoCentralAsiabecauseofStalin’ssegregationand
discriminationpolicies.Butinthenewland,theypioneeredthewildernessandbecametherichestminorityintheSovietUnion.
Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, most people are still living in the area. They pride themselves on being Korean and try
to inherit the culture, but as they go to the 3rd and 4th generation Koryo-Saram, the language and culture are forgotten. Their
languageis‘Koryo-mar’,whichisamixtureofRussianandKoreandialects.TheArguslookedthe‘Koryo-mar’,sothatreaders
canhaveaninterestingunderstandingofitwhichareindangerofextinction.
