The 7+1 Visiting Student Program was conceived to help students expand their academic horizons and
experience the world by offering them opportunities to study overseas. Students are given an option to
study for at least one semester abroad out of the total of eight semesters in order to help them develop
an international mindset. Twice a year, 500 students are selected under the 7+1 Visiting Student Program
to study at renowned universities abroad. Through various selection processes, the program offers
opportunities to an increasing number of students year by year.
Opportunities to Study Abroad Open to All Students
The 7+1 Visiting Student Program through the Free Competition is open to all enrolled
students. They can apply for the program regardless of their majors and classes.
Opportunities for Non-English Major Students to Study in English-Speaking
Countries
The Visiting Student Program through Selection by Department aims to provide equal
opportunities to all departments. It offers opportunities to students not majoring in
English-related studies to study at universities in English-speaking countries like the
United States and Britain.
Opportunities to Study Abroad Offered to All Students with Excellent
Academic Records
Since 2007, the 7+1 Visiting Student Program has been open to all freshmen in the
top 20 percent in terms of academic performance. If they obtain a certain grade
pointaverage, students can maintain their eligibility and study abroad at foreign
universities without going through a separate screening process.
